Mark Rosenthal is a software developer focusing on Free/Open Source Systems and web technologies.
He has worked on the development of a wide variety of kinds of software, including language tools, telephone network management systems, OS internals, and GUI-oriented end-user applications.
After starting out programming in assembly, he's traveled the well-worn route to C, ANSI C, C++, Java, PHP, Javascript, with a little Perl and Lisp for good measure. His GUI background includes X11/Xlib/Xt/Motif, and Java's Swing. For web technologies, it's the usual list of suspects: HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, Java, JSP, XML, MySQL.
Mark is a strong proponent of Free/Open Source Software and open formats, and believes that the success of both is crucial to the preservation of a free society.
