Martin Jansen is a student of computer science at RWTH Aachen University, Germany, and works as a software engineer for Bauer + Kirch GmbH.

Martin is a long-term contributor to the open source community. He is a member of the PEAR Group, which oversees the well-being of the PEAR project. Once in a while he helps publishers with technical editing and reviewing of upcoming books. Recently he was invited to become a member of Zend's Education Advisory Board, where he has helped launch the successful Zend PHP Certification.
