Stephen R. Walli is vice president of open source development strategy at Optaros, Inc. He worked for Microsoft for 5 years after the acquisition of Softway Systems, Inc, the makers of Interix which lives on in the Services for UNIX product. While at Microsoft, he continued to work on Interix, then joined the Rotor team, and finally worked as part of the business development team exploring how Microsoft could best develop open source communities.
Stephen was a founder and Vice-president, R&D at Softway. He has worked for Mortice Kern Systems, Ltd., and Electronic Data Systems, and been a long time participant in the POSIX and UNIX standards space, representing both USENIX and EUUG in the process at various times.
